  • St. Bernard joins the company from Tryton Medical where he held the role of President and CEO, leading the company’s commercialization efforts in the highly competitive coronary stent market. St. Bernard has also an extensive track record growing businesses across a variety of fields including pharmaceuticals, consumer health products and diagnostic markets. St. Bernard’s prior experience includes Vice President at Johnson & Johnson Vision (formerly Abbott Medical Optics), Vice President of North American Marketing & Sales for LifeCell and Vice President at Cordis where he led the commercial operations for the cardiovascular and endovascular businesses in the U.S.

  • Chris Nocera is a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in medical device research and development. He currently serves as the Director of R&D & Engineering at Alta Biomaterials. Prior to joining Alta Biomaterials, Chris held various positions at CeloNova BioSciences, including Manager of Engineering and Senior R&D Engineer. Chris has also worked at Stryker, Spine Wave, and other medical device companies in various roles such as Senior Engineer, Project Engineer, and Engineer.

    Throughout his career, Chris has gained a wealth of experience in designing and developing medical implants and instruments, leading cross-functional design teams, and collaborating with surgeons and sales and marketing teams. Chris has also demonstrated expertise in design verification and validation, reliability and sustainability, and product development processes.

    With a focus on delivering innovative solutions to meet customer needs, Chris has made a significant impact in the medical device industry, bringing numerous products to market.

  • Stephanie Fossat-Dominguez is a seasoned operations executive with extensive experience in the healthcare industry. She currently serves as the Vice President of Operations at Alta Biomaterials, where she is responsible for leading the company's operational and supply chain initiatives.

  • Introducing Dr. Alexander Küller, an accomplished and highly experienced Senior Scientist with a distinguished career spanning over 15 years. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at ALTA Biomaterials, Dr. Küller is an invaluable asset to our team of experts.

    Throughout his career, Dr. Küller has made significant contributions to the field of medical device development, from the initial stages of research and development, through to the final stages of market introduction and beyond. His expertise in medical safety, surface chemistry, and surface physics is unmatched, and he has played a crucial role in the development and transfer of medical devices into production, as well as guiding products up to market and beyond.

    Dr. Küller holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Heidelberg University, and his research has been widely recognized and cited in the scientific community. He has authored numerous publications, including a groundbreaking study on multimodal visibility of microspheres for transarterial embolization tested in porcine kidneys.

    Moreover, Dr. Küller has also contributed significantly to the field of enhanced imaging in clinical applications, with his invention of loadable polymeric particles. He holds a patent for the same, which has been issued by the European Patent Office.

  • Drew Schaller is a skilled R&D chemist with a broad knowledge base and expertise in biomaterials. He earned his degree in Chemistry from Wittenberg University where he researched biomass fermentation, and its use in energy production.

    After completing his degree in Chemistry from Wittenberg University, Drew Schaller's interest in biomaterials and the potential for their application in medicine led him to transition to the medical field. His previous experience in biomass fermentation provided a strong foundation for him to pursue research in the development of biomaterials and their use in medical devices.

    Drew's interest in the medical field led him to join Axelgaard Manufacturing as a chemist, where he was able to gain valuable experience in hydrogel synthesis and formulation. Through this, Drew gained an understanding of the properties and behaviors of biomaterials, and how they could be used in a clinical setting to develop advanced medical devices and therapies.

    Drew's collaborations with international organizations also helped him gain an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in the global medical field, providing him with the skills and experience necessary to make a positive impact in the clinical setting.

  • Jiao Wang is a highly accomplished Senior Chemist with extensive experience in analytical chemistry and polymer science. She currently serves as Senior Chemist at Alta Biomaterials, where she leverages her expertise to drive the development of advanced biomaterials for medical device applications.

    Before joining Alta Biomaterials, Jiao spent several years as Senior Chemist at CeloNova Biosciences, where she was responsible for setting up a Chemistry and Polymer Lab and synthesizing high purity biocompatible Polyphosphazene polymer for medical device applications. Her work at CeloNova resulted in the successful development of new biomaterials that have been used in numerous medical devices.

    Prior to her role at CeloNova, Jiao gained over 15 years of experience in analytical chemistry, with strong hands-on skills in GC, GC/MS, AA, ICP, HPLC, IR, and UV-Vis. She has also authored a handbook of polymer materials for medical applications in Chinese language.

    Jiao holds a Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science from East China University of Science and Technology. She is a results-driven professional with a passion for innovation and a proven track record of driving successful projects from conception to completion. Her exceptional skills in analytical chemistry and polymer science make her a valuable asset to any organization seeking to develop advanced biomaterials for medical applications.

  • Rocky has worked as a Sr. R&D Technician in the Medical Device Manufacturing environment for 30 plus years. Including Abbott, Boston Scientific, Microventions, and most recently Celonova BioScience. His expertise includes Equipment set-up, repair, configuration and, operation. Working areas include packaging, Catheter Manufacturing Drug/PzF coated stents, Bio-Absorb-able Scaffolds. Currentcertifications include Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response standard (HAZWOPER) and ISO17025:2017 Equipment Calibration.

  • Martin is a highly accomplished professional with 15 years of experience in the field of catheter manufacturing. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a remarkable ability to rapidly progress in his understanding of process improvements, people management, and time management.

    Martin began his career in catheter manufacturing as an Operator, where he gained a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in the manufacturing process. He then progressed to the role of Technician, where he honed his technical skills and gained a keen understanding of the importance of maintaining high quality standards in catheter manufacturing.

    Most recently, Martin was promoted to the position of Production Manager, where he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and management skills. In this role, he has placed a strong emphasis on ensuring that his team of manufacturing staff is able to work at a quick pace while maintaining full adherence to cGMP GDP. This has resulted in the output of high-quality PzF coated Cobra catheters that meet the highest standards in the industry.

    Throughout his career, Martin has shown a remarkable ability to collaborate with colleagues across different departments to achieve common goals. He is a problem solver at heart, with a track record of successfully identifying and addressing issues that arise in the manufacturing process. He is highly skilled in analyzing data and using it to drive process improvements, and has a strong understanding of the importance of continuous improvement in the manufacturing process.
